Meet Sami
I fell in love with athletics from a young age and participated in Softball, Soccer and CrossFit. I was lucky to have strong fitness role models in my early life, but took for granted the impact they had on me. Later, I realized that fitness is a personal experience and those people wouldn't always be present in my life. I learned an important life lesson: My fitness is my health, and my responsibility.
I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health from the University of Arizona in 2018, and during that journey I had discovered that my passion was helping others find the same life lesson I found. I began studying to be a Physical Therapist Assistant and achieved that goal in 2021. In this career, I have been able to help patients rehabilitate their body and learn the importance of “Owning their Health.”
While working as a PTA, I also studied to become an NCSA Certified Personal Trainer through the National Strength & Conditioning Association. This helps further my knowledge in the health and fitness field and allows me to better achieve my goal to have a meaningful impact on others’ health and fitness.
Saltee Fitness was created to apply my unique combination of knowledge and experience to help others.

Meet Saltee Fitness
Saltee Fitness was born from a passion for fitness and a love for the ocean. Inspired by Isak Dinesen’s quote, “The cure for anything is salt water: sweat, tears, or the sea,” getting Saltee means making intentional choices to invest in your health. It’s about embracing the work, the sweat, and occasionally the tears, because that’s where real change happens. This is the cure.
Many personal trainers say their goal is to “help clients achieve their fitness goals.” But that skips an important question: how those goals are achieved. Too often, “custom” programs ignore a client’s lifestyle, schedule, preferences, and what actually makes them happy. When clients are forced to conform to the trainer, motivation fades and resistance builds. We call this Friction.
The Saltee Fitness approach starts with understanding you as a person, not just a body. By building programs around your preferences and life, we reduce friction and make training something you’re genuinely excited to show up for.

If you want multiple in-person sessions a week, to train virtually, or additional at-home work outs, Saltee Fitness will make it happen for you. Not a fan of traditional training methods? Saltee Fitness will find a way to reduce the friction every step of the way.
To get started, every new client will participate in a Fitness Consultation to help us better understand each other. Then together we will develop a program to meet your goals in a format that excites you.
